Workshops

How does faith affect my way of life? How does it affect areas such as work and financial life, social interaction, leisure, physical and mental health care?

Jana Polehna

Description

Do you feel like your life is going full speed ahead, but sometimes you lose direction? Or are you going through a period of uncertainty and don't know where to go next? Wherever you are, this workshop will help you better understand yourself, your priorities and how to find life balance.

Together we will look at the story of Nehemiah - a man who faced a big decision. How did he know where God was leading him? How did he handle the change? How did he maintain strength and balance in his life? Through his story, we will discover four key areas for life balance.

This workshop is not about instant advice. It's about practical steps you can apply in your life right now. Join if you want to find a better balance and step into life with more clarity and energy.

Program

For a long time I ignored what was going on inside me because there was "no time" - it was always more important to be there for others. I put ministry above time with my family, hoarded activities for God instead of being more with Him, and believed that rest was only in heaven.

But the deeper I get to know God, the clearer I see that this is not His plan for us. He is teaching me that balance is not a weakness, but part of His perfect design. That true strength comes not from overload, but from living in harmony with how He created us.

And when I accept it, joy, energy and the desire to continue serving come - not out of duty, but out of an overflowing heart.

Level of interaction

Low - almost no interaction required, more of a lecture type

For whom

✅ Do you feel you have too many responsibilities and don't know how to balance them with rest and relationship with God?
✅ Do you want to live a meaningful life but don't know how to recognize the right priorities?
✅ Do you feel like you're spinning in circles between work, ministry, family and responsibilities and want to find a better balance?

I am looking for people who want to live a healthy, meaningful life in accordance with God's guidance. This workshop is for anyone who wants to lead their own life better - whether in work, family, relationships, or spiritual growth, and wants to be a good influence on others through their example.

Description

Forgiveness is one of the strong messages of the Bible. Jesus leads us to it and even says that if we are not willing to forgive someone, God will have trouble forgiving us. But how do I realistically live out forgiveness when I feel so hurt, tarnished, or broken? Is it possible to truly forgive anything, even if it is terrible things that interfere with my life or the lives of my friends? And does God even want me to be deeply hurt when I force myself to "forgive"? Can doing the "right thing" hurt me?.

Capacity

15-20 people

Program

How does forgiveness relate to serving the gospel? Can I faithfully represent God's forgiveness even if I do not want to forgive? And is it possible that I want to forgive and cannot? What about it? What can help me? What does not help me?

Level of interaction

Average - active involvement will be offered but is not a requirement

For whom

Whoever is interested in the topic of forgiveness, whoever experiences anything with forgiveness, whoever cannot forgive or whoever would like to serve people with the Gospel and thinks about the call of God.

Description

Have you encountered being labeled a conservative or a liberal? Do you tend to divide members of our church into these two groups? That's not fair. No one deserves to be "pigeonholed." We often divide and erect barriers with this approach. The Bible delivers a message that goes deep, is thought-provoking, and unifies. Thanks to the Bible, we can seek that unity, strive for it, and never give it up.

Program

Differences of opinion and attitude in the church are often due to our ideas about God. God transcends us. God presents himself in the Bible in a certain tension.Sometimes we feel that he contradicts himself. We cannot understand him. We cannot fully understand him. We are selective, we pick and choose what we like from the Bible and leave aside what we don't like. This creates a diversity of opinion and a diversity of interpretations of the biblical text. This causes disagreements and contradictions in the church. But Jesus did not leave us alone in this. He offers us a solution in the form of the gift of the Holy Spirit, which creates true unity. Let us seek and find it together.

Level of interaction

Active involvement is welcome but not a requirement.

For whom

Anyone who takes the other person seriously and doesn't just want to fit them into a category or opinion group.

What to bring

Come with a desire to listen, to think, to seek and not be afraid to speak your mind.

Description

Where does your mission begin and end?

In Acts 1:8, Jesus lays out a road map for every believer: Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the end of the world itself. This workshop will help you understand what these areas mean in today's context - not just geographically, but culturally and spiritually.

We will focus on how to reach out to those around us: family, friends, neighbors, and congregation members. You will learn practical ways to make a real impact in your local community and discover how your personal mission can extend out into the world.

Your mission starts here. Find out how to live it.

Program

"You will be my witnesses..." (Acts 1:8) - these words of Jesus mark a clear mission strategy that is still valid today. But what does it mean Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria  a  the end of the world itself for us personally?

In this workshop, we'll uncover the layers of Acts 1:8 and discover how these areas represent more than just a map. They include:

  • Geographical distance-from the people closest to us to those who live on the other side of the world.
  • Cultural distance-from those who share our conditions to those with completely opposite worldviews.
  • Spiritual Setting-from fellow Adventists, to Christians from other churches, to total unbelievers.

We will look at practical ways to work with each group, with a strong emphasis on reaching people in your immediate environment - friends, family, neighbors and church members. How can you strengthen your influence in the congregation? How do we start a conversation with those around us? And how can your personal mission expand and impact the world?

This meeting is not just about theory - it is a call to action. Find out how to live the Great Commission by starting where you are.

Online participation may be there, but I'll be focusing on the people in the room.

I will offer participants the opportunity to follow up in person.

Level of interaction

High

For whom

This workshop is for anyone who wants to make a difference for Christ, whether they are brand new to the mission field or want to deepen their impact on their neighborhood.

What to bring

Bring your desire to change the world! Maybe even a pen or a notebook if you want.

Description

Do you want to give Bible classes but don't know where to start?

Personal mission is the most powerful way to reach others. This workshop is designed as a toolkit for personal mission, equipping you with practical skills for leading others to Christ through the power of God's Word. You will learn how to identify people who are open to the gospel, start spiritual conversations that will naturally lead to Bible lessons, and prepare lessons that will touch hearts and minds. As a plus, we'll look at how AI can help with lesson and mission preparation.

It doesn't depend on your abilities. This workshop is designed to inspire, equip and empower you to change. Come and find out, how God can use you - right where you are.

Capacity

The number of participants must be square - 1, 4, 9, 16, 25,... Otherwise the workshop will not take place.

No, I'm kidding. Any number of participants are welcome.

Program

Personal mission is not just about reaching out to others - it is the key to revitalizing your spiritual life. Ellen White writes in her book The path to health and harmony in life, p. 143: "If more time was spent on personal mission, we would see much greater results."  This workshop will show you how.

We'll look at practical steps to get you started on your personal mission:

  • How to find hearts open to the Gospel
  • How to start a meaningful conversation about faith
  • How to prepare and lead effective Bible classes
  • How AI can support the mission

It will be a dynamic and energizing meeting that will equip you with the necessary tools to start working with immediately. You will gain not only knowledge, but more importantly the confidence to step out in faith.

"God will use anyone who is willing to be used. The best and most lasting results in work are not achieved by the most brilliant or talented individuals. It takes men and women who have heard the message from heaven. The best performers are those who answer the call: "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me." " - The Path to Health and Life Harmony, p. 71.1

You can make a change. Let's find out how - together.

Attendance onine may be, but I'll concentrate on the people in the hall.

I will offer the possibility of a personal follow-up.

What is God's mission for our church? What is His mission for this generation? And what role do you play in it when you are only 15 (or 20 or 50)?
This workshop is inspired by Joakim Hjortland's book What if there is more? In his book, Joakim presents an exciting look at what God's plan is for His followers.

If you want a clue on which you can confidently base all your life decisions, then I invite you to my workshop! Because God has a vision and a plan, and through Him you can live a life filled with deep meaning. You are part of it, no matter how old you are or what your gifts are.

Program

Book What if there is more? I wish I had gotten it when I was 17 years younger and making important steps in my career and personal life.

In today's age of endless possibilities, we increasingly appreciate people who can guide us in areas we don't understand. Those of you who have had a taste of adult life will tell me that there is nothing better than a capable and honest financial advisor. And the younger ones among you will understand all too well when they think of that dude in class who can navigate the plethora of English tenses.
In this workshop, I would like to be a good advisor to you, with the help of Joakim's rich insight into the topic of the search for life's mission. I will not solve all your questions, but I will try to give you a safe direction.

Level of interaction

Average - active involvement will be offered but is not a requirement

Description

There are all kinds of opinions about music in Christianity. But what does the Bible say about it? And what about music in Adventist performers today?

Program

Music is a sensitive subject, sometimes even dividing choirs. Sometimes people who are not musicians are left out of discussions about music. On the other hand, there is not even unity about music among trained Advent musicians. In this workshop, we'll look at music from the perspective of the Bible-from a non-musician to a non-musician audience, but feel free to include musicians. 😀 We want to discover biblical and historical principles for music that glorifies God. At the same time, we want to mention Adventist music performers who are usually not even known among Advent youth.

Level of interaction

Low - almost no interaction required, more of a lecture type

For whom

For all those who want more clarity about music and who are interested in a view of music that does not conform to conventional ideas. In addition, for those who are still searching in the field of music and who want to gain further inspiration. In short, for everyone, no matter if you are a music professional, a layman, play an instrument, or if you just like to listen to music. 🙂

Why do we so easily become addicted and fall into this trap? Why is it so hard to stop? How do addictions work and how can we overcome with God's power and help? Together we will find the answers to these questions and explain the principles and strategies for not becoming unhealthily addicted, but also how to break free if I have already fallen into an addiction (of any kind).

Program

The workshop will be in the form of a partial discussion, tips, advice, explanations. If we have an experience of deliverance and victory with God, then we will be equipped to understand, sympathize, and help others in their struggles. It is the addicted people who need compassionate treatment and encouragement.

In this way, God can be glorified in people's lives and we can be part of it. I can still keep in touch with anyone in need if they are interested.

We are going to look at the Lord's Prayer and show that it is far from being just a "simple prayer". In fact, it is extremely profound and has the power to transform our prayer life.

Can we really enjoy prayer? We certainly can! What's more, it can become the most beautiful part of your day.

Description

We spent a quarter of a year in Sri Lanka with my Helen and it changed our lives. We had the opportunity to establish close relationships with local Christians whose pure faith, warmth and humility were a great enrichment to us. We were also able to engage in mission work and saw a true surrender to Christ despite the often difficult circumstances of life. It was a bit of a bump in the wall that opened our eyes in many ways. We would like to share this life experience with you.

Program

Together we will travel to Asia and briefly learn about Sri Lanka, its history, culture and current situation to better understand the life of ordinary local people. We will then meet local believers, preachers and people we have come to know who have deeply impacted our lives. We will let the message of their lives resonate to us here and today. We will reflect on our lifestyle in Europe and how it all affects our life of faith. Perhaps this will lead us to think about how committed we really are to God and how much we just talk about it.

Level of interaction

For whom

For those who want to think about how much they really trust God. How much they surrender their lives to Him.

What to bring

A curiosity and willingness to reflect deeply on yourself and your own life with God.

Lukáš Sochor

Description

Even falling on the mouth is a forward movement. We usually wish each other happy birthday. But what does that mean? What's good, bad and best? Have you ever thought about that? Sometimes we fail in life, sometimes things happen to us that we don't understand and that crush us. Often these are circumstances beyond our control, like illness and misfortune. Where is God in all this? What's the point? And is it good or is it bad? How do we make sense of it all? What is a successful life? Does it mean not experiencing any hardships and difficulties? Was Jeremiah's life successful?
We will reflect together on the difficult and desperate things in our lives. I've been through some of this myself and I'm still going through it, so it's a very lively topic for me. How to approach it, how to experience it, and how to embrace it as an opportunity to grow our trust in God. How to surrender it all to Him, even if we don't see any way forward ourselves.

Capacity

25

Program

We will go through some Bible stories together in which we will follow the lows and highs of various Bible characters (Job, David, Jeremiah, etc.). We will also stop at the Psalms in which these themes are some of the most carrying. Biblical accounts will be supplemented by personal experience. We will think about how to navigate all of this and how to get through difficult situations and seasons in our lives. Each participant will receive a paper at the end with Bible verses and questions for home reflection and prayer of surrender.

Level of interaction

Average

For whom

One who experiences distressing and difficult situations in life. One who is desperate and doesn't know how to go on. The one who feels that God does not hear him and that he is far from him. The one who, in spite of despair, longs to find hope in the Lord.

What to bring

A willingness to go to the bottom and not play games before God or before ourselves.

Práca v ADRA mi dala šancu hlavne pomáhať a len občas rozprávať. Teraz potrebujem ďalších 30 rokov života, aby som to vyvážil…

2.     Dobrovoľnícke misie – potrebný štart do života

Program

V prvom workshope porozprávam svoj životný príbeh a doplním zážitky videom a obrázkami z humanitárnych misií v rozvojových krajinách (Uganda, Libanon, Sýria, Ukrajina…)

Level of interaction

For whom

What, why, and how do we believe as Adventists? Has anyone asked you a question that is keeping you up at the moment? That is why we want to discover together the old and new treasures the Bible has to offer.

Leona Jiráňová

Description

Have you ever wondered what makes Ellen White so special? Have you doubted that you should believe what she wrote? Or is she a completely undiscovered field for you?

During this workshop you will get to know her from a completely different and new angle! Together we will look at some of the reasons why Ellen White is a true prophet of God, we will think about how reading her books can help us in our spiritual lives, and most importantly, you will discover that she was not the boring person you may have thought she was. You'll learn (not only) what her favorite color was, her favorite dessert, and why people say she was a matchmaker. And you'll also find out that maybe she didn't say everything you thought she said...

Program

For a long time, Ellen White was someone I didn't consider at all and who wasn't important to me. I didn't understand her importance. But when I opened one of her books I was amazed at the images she offered.

During my time at the AFCOE mission school, we had classes on the gift of prophecy and Ellen White, among other things. It was during these lessons that I realized its tremendous importance to our spiritual life and true relationship with God. I came to understand that she was not a person who never smiled or enjoyed life - as some may view her. These lessons were eye-opening and my desire to get to know Ellen in a closer way suddenly grew. I wish the same for you.

I'll tell you a little bit of my life. I would like to share with you what I have had the opportunity to understand and to reflect with you on what we can learn through Ellen. We will find out what the Bible says about all of this and what reasons you have to believe that the Lord God chose Ellen White. Do you wonder if reading her books has had an impact on you? We'll get to that, too. And how was the dessert?

Level of interaction

Low/Medium

For whom

✅ Do you feel like you don't really know who Ellen White is and why you should consider her?
✅ Do you think you've never had the opportunity to make your own picture on it?
✅ Do you want to know more about what the Bible says about the gift of prophecy and how it is manifested in the Bible?

✅ Do you want to see Ellen from a different perspective and maybe through different eyes?

If you answered yes to at least one of the questions, I'd be happy to work with you to find the answer.

Description

Let's look at 10 biblical texts. In them, we will discover principles that will help us discover what we need to watch out for in today's society when it comes to its tendency to reject God but embrace spirituality in any other form.

Capacity

20

Program

We will consider the following 5 NT (Lev 19:31; Lev 20:6; Deut 18:9-13; Isa 8:19-20; Jer 10:2-6) and 5 NT (Acts 16:16-18; Col 2:8; 2Co 11:14-15; 1Tim 4:1-2; 1Jn 4:1-3) texts. We will then apply them to the esoscene in our 21st century context, which is an opportunity to learn more about what constitutes it (astral travel, homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, craniosacral therapy, tarot, graphology, etc.).

Level of interaction

Average.

For whom

Anyone who wants to know how to biblically evaluate today's esoscene, which primarily affects finances, relationships, and health.

Description

Am I proud to belong to the remnant church, or am I ashamed of it? Do I look down on other Christians with pride? What's the deal with the remnant church anyway?

Program

As Adventists, we consider ourselves a remnant church. However, we often misunderstand, are ashamed of, relativize, or proudly misuse the term in our dealings with Christians of other denominations. In this workshop, we will look at how the term remnant church came about and what relevance it has for our time.

Level of interaction

Low - almost no interaction required, more of a lecture type

For whom

For all who want to be more clear about understanding the remnant church. In addition, for all who are in contact with other Christians and have heard from other Christians some objections and prejudices about the Adventist understanding of the remnant church.

Description

As Adventists we have a prophecy about the USA that we have sometimes been unsure if it is credible. Now, however, things are about to take a turn for the worse in the USA. The Czech media is using a vocabulary that is reminiscent of the book The Great Controversy of the Ages. What is the interpretation? And how can I pass it on to my friends?

Program

First, let's analyze the biblical passage from the Book of Revelation, in which we have seen the USA for about 180 years. In doing so, we will partially consider the historical development of this prophecy within the history of our church. We then look at important milestones of current events in the U.S. and analyze what of this prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes right now. At the same time, we will learn about what has only recently been fulfilled. Highlights: We want to think about how we can lead our friends to this prophecy that just points out that the Bible is supremely timely, reliable, and trustworthy.

Level of interaction

Average - active involvement will be offered but is not a requirement

For whom

For those who follow current events in the US, are confused about it, and want to navigate it. Additionally, for those who desire to know more about Bible prophecy about America.

Description

Does it matter what kind of music I listen to? Why do some Christians listen to praise music and some listen to Christian rap? What about the Bible really says about music? Get ready to debunk popular myths and unlock hidden principles about music - backed by history, experimental science and, most importantly, inspiration. This will change the way you think about music.

Program

It is a topic that sparks controversy and sometimes even divides congregations. As a well-known evangelist once said, "if you want to get banned from speaking, start preaching about music". But why is that? And with so many different views, can we even determine which view is correct?

The Bible has more to say about this than you might expect. Join us as we search the Scriptures, discover history, and explore what experimental science has revealed over the centuries. With a few simple principles, you'll gain clarity, banish confusion, and discover what every Christian should know about music.

The speaker has over a decade of experience in the music industry and is a trained pianist with 25 years of experience. He studied audio engineering at one of the most renowned universities in Germany and has worked with GRAMMY winning producers and artists from all over the world.

Level of interaction

Low - almost no interaction required, more of a lecture type

For whom

Anyone who would like to know what the Bible has to say about music and what music a Christian should listen to.

More than half of the time will be dedicated to your own activity/creation. You can therefore look forward to a process and a final product that will promote your spiritual growth and that of those around you.

Description

Do you like to combine creativity with faith? At the workshop you will have the opportunity to decorate your canvas bag by interpreting a Bible verse, story or quote. So you'll create your own original bag that you can wear proudly and that will also be a great conversation starter - a way to open up a conversation about the Lord God in a non-violent way.

When we create, we open up a way to be carriers of God's message that goes beyond this workshop.

For whom

This workshop is for anyone who has the desire to combine creativity with faith and share their faith with others.

Description

Capacity

Max 20 persons

Program

Společně si povíme o tom jakým způsobem jde aplikaci Digitální Misionář využívat a zpolečně si ji prakticky vyzkoušíme.

For whom

This workshop will be mainly about creating on paper and drawing. Through this we can also share what is so close to us - faith. While we are creating we can talk about all things creative, but also about illustrating in a digital environment, which is what I also do. I've been on my instagram @nadejezpapiru for a year now, sharing my creations and illustrations and reaching more and more people. Together we will be creating bible cards that you can use as a bookmark or maybe as a gift.

When we create, we open up a way to be carriers of God's message that goes beyond this workshop.

Capacity

15-20 people
